There Are A Number Of Ways To Make A Donation
We accept cash and cheque donations which can be mailed in or dropped off at the food bank during our business hours. Tax receipts are issued immediately. 75% of monetary donations go directly to purchase food for our clients. The remainder is spent on unavoidable expenses such as rent and utilities. We have never paid wages. Please make your cheques payable to Fare Share Food Bank Oakville Inc. and send directly to the food bank at: 1240 Speers Road, Unit #6, Oakville, Ontario L6L 2X4.
Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express) donations. Please use the 'Donate' button below to help the community through your donation.
You may donate securities or mutual fund shares. This is the most efficient way to give charitably since capital gains tax does not apply and you will receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of the securities at the time of the donation. Please call the Food Bank to make arrangements.
Drop your grocery items in the Oakville Fare Share donation bin located in most Oakville Grocery stores.
Drop your grocery items at any Oakville Fire Department Station.
Drop your grocery items at the Fare Share Food Bank. We are there Mondays 10-2 and Thursdays 3-7. We would like to meet you and show you the Food Bank. If you cannot come by on the above noted two days please call first to make sure a volunteer is there to greet you. 905-847-3988.
A special appeal to all persons donating food to the food bank. We do not purposely give out food that is out of date (past the best before/expiry date). Should you be cleaning out your cupboards you would really be assisting the volunteers at any Food Bank if you checked all dates before bringing them to the Food Bank as a donation. Thank you.
